17 hallia kahden vuoden takaisen 13 sijaan. Yli 180 tuhatta neliötä näyttelyalaa. Laaja valikoima erilliskonferensseja ja seminaareja. Electronica puolustaa edelleen paikkaansa ammattielektroniikan ykköstapahtumana, mutta siitä on tullut jo liian iso.

Liian suureksi kasvu näkyy monella tapaa. Metrot ovat tupaten täynnä hikisiä messuvieraita aamuin illoin. Ilman tähteäkin myytävät hotellit ovat täynnä. Ja itse messuilla ei kolmenkaan päivän aikana ehdi jokaisessa hallissa käymään.

Tapaamisten suunnitteluun tarvitaan jatkossa ilmeisesti tekoälyä. Pahimmillaan matka kaukaisimpien hallien välillä vie 12-15 minuuttia ja silloin pitää jo hölkätä. Mihinkään kiinnostavaan ei ole aikaa silmiään kiinnittää. Digi-Keyn Marilyn Monroekin on nähty jo aiemmin.

Messujen levittäminen yhä laajemmalle on tietysti ymmärrettävää Messe Münchenin kannalta. Se myy pinta-alaa. 20 neliön koppi maksaa lähes 900 euroa. Uusi messunäytteilleasettaja saa 16 neliön paketin 5800 eurolla. Neliöhinta kasvaa, jos haluaa osastonsa kilpailijoiden sekaan.

Todella moni yritys oli messuilla valtavilla osastoilla. Osastojen hinnat ovat tietysti lähes valtiosalaisuuksia, mutta kohtuullisen varman tiedon mukaan isohko 20 x 20 -metrinen osasto maksoi 150 tuhatta euroa. Tämän perusteella esimerkiksi Arrow´n ja Avnetin puolen hehtaarin osastojen hintalappu on taatusti 7-numeroinen.

Messuilla näkyy myös edelleen paljon suomalaisia. Omilla osastoillaan mukana oli messujärjestäjän mukaan vain kuusi yritystä, mutta suomenkieltä kuuli käytävillä ja osastoilla tiheään.

Suomi voisi kyllä ottaa mallia etelänaapuri Virosta. Enterprise Estonia ja Viron elektroniikkateollisuusjärjestö olivat panostaneet yhteiseen Estonia-standiin B1-hallissa. Yrityksiä oli mukana yhdeksän, mukana esimerkiksi osin suomalainen Incap. Yritykset maksoivat osastostaan muutaman tonnin, mutta sillä hinnalla ne saivat paljon näkyvyyttä hyvällä paikalla. Isoja sopimuksiakin virolaiset kehuivat tehneensä.

Esimerkiksi Business Finland voisi tutkimusohjelmien lisäksi varata hieman rahaa siihen, että ulkomaille pyrkiviä suomalaisyrityksiä vietäisiin messuilla Saattaisihan siinä Business Finlandkin saada nimeä, jota hyödyntää kansainvälisesti.
