Saksalainen Bosch kehittää monenlaisia tekoälyä hyödyntäviä IoT-ratkaisuja. Nyt yhtiö on laatinut eettisen säännöstön, joka ohjaa tekoälyn käyttöä yrityksen älytuotteissa. Tekoälyn eettiset säännöt Boschilla pohjautuvat perussääntöön, jonka mukaan ihmisten tulee olla tekoälypohjaisten päätösten lopullinen tekijä.

- Tekoälyn tulisi palvella ihmisiä. Nämä eettiset säännöt antavat työntekijöillemme selkeät ohjeet älytuotteiden kehittämiseen. Tavoitteena on saada ihmiset luottamaan tekoälypohjaisiin tuotteisiimme, Boschin pääjohtaja Volkmar Denner sanoo.

Tekoälyteknologia on erityisen tärkeässä asemassa Boschille. Yrityksen tähtäimessä on, että vuoteen 2025 mennessä kaikki Boschin tuotteet joko sisältävät tekoälyä tai sen avulla on toteutettu osa suunnittelusta tai tuotannosta. Yrityksen tahtotila on, että sen tekoälytuotteet ovat turvallisia, kestäviä ja niiden toiminta on selitettävissä.

- Jos tekoäly on kuin musta laatikko, ihmiset eivät luota siihen. Verkottuneessa maailmassa luottamus on kuitenkin oleellinen tekijä, sanoo Boschin teknologia- ja digitaalisen liiketoiminnan johtaja Michael Bolle.

Boschin tavoitteena on tuottaa luotettavia tekoälyyn pohjautuvia tuotteita. Nyt julkistetut eettiset säännöt pohjautuvat Boschin ”Invented for life” -ajatteluun, joka yhdistää innovaatioiden etsimisen ja sosiaalisen vastuun. Seuraavien kahden vuoden aikana Bosch aikoo kouluttaa 20 000 työntekijäänsä tekoälyn käyttöön. Eettiset säännöt ovat oleellinen osa koulutusohjelmaa.

Tekoäly on maailmanlaajuinen kehityksen ja kasvun ajuri. Esimerkiksi liikkeenjohdon konsulttiyritys PwC ennustaa, että vuoteen 2030 mennessä bruttokansantuote kasvaa tekoälyn ansiosta Kiinassa 26 prosenttia, Pohjois-Amerikassa 14 prosenttia ja Euroopassa noin 10 prosenttia. Teknologia voi auttaa monien haasteiden ratkaisemisessa esimerkiksi ilmastonmuutoksen vastaisessa toiminnassa.

Algoritmien käytössä on suunnaton määrä dataa, jota analysoimalla ne voivat tehdä päätelmiä ja päätöksiä. Bosch on jo hyvissä ajoin ennen EU:n laajuisia sitovia standardeja ryhtynyt toimeen teköälyteknologiaan liittyvien eettisten kysymysten selvittämiseksi.

Boschin tekoälyn eettiset säännöt edellyttävät, ettei tekoälyn tule tehdä ihmisiin liittyviä päätöksiä vailla ihmisen valvontaa. Sen sijaan tekoälyn tulisi palvella ihmisiä työkaluna.
